'Check-It' is an app design that I made individually for a school subject. We had a lot of freedom in choosing a suitable topic for this course. To choose a suitable topic, I thought about what kind of problems I may encounter in daily life. This is how I came to the idea: packing your bag for a trip. Because this can sometimes be experienced as stressful, I personally have always found it nice to create some kind of overview by making a checklist of supplies. For this project I developed an app design that offers people a better overview for their next journey and their packing necessities.

problem.

As stated above, the problem was that it can be stressful to travel because you may not know what to pack. I was not sure if this problem statement was a personal problem or more common among other people. To establish my assumption I created a survey and shared it. The survey got 76 responses, from which can be concluded that it is indeed a problem common among people who travel. Atleast 83% of those surveyed experience stress when packing their things, and more than 70% of those surveyed admitted that a personalised checklist would help them reduce stress. From these survey results and my own experience, I created an Empathy Map.

This was my first time working with UI and UX design. I loved working in a very systematic way, following important UI & UX laws and design heuristics.

solution.

The idea was to create a simple-to-use app that asks you three simple questions, and then calculates all the things you will need for your next trip. But to be able to make a simple-to-use app, you will need a brand to work with. In the image below you can see that I first started with a simple style moodboard, a customer journey, a brand style sheet and then how i implemented this to the app design.
